Foundation Scholarships

The application has closed on August 24, 2009.
Applicants will be notified of results after September 11, 2009.

Spring 2010 application will be open in December.

Although each scholarship has different requirements and guidelines, all scholarships offered by the Ivy Tech Foundation have certain guidelines in common, in addition to the requirements set by the individual donors. It is very important to consider all guidelines before applying for a scholarship. Below are general guidelines that apply to all scholarships offered by the Ivy Tech Foundation.

Who is eligible for Ivy Tech Foundation scholarships?
Ivy Tech Community College - Bloomington campus students that meet the criteria for each individual scholarship are welcome to apply.  The individual scholarship criteria can be found by clicking on each scholarship name on the application.

What do scholarships pay for?
If awarded, a scholarship will be applied to any outstanding balance with the school assisting with tuition, fees, and books. (This applies to most scholarships.)

Can I receive a scholarship if I already have other financial assistance?
Yes, but total aid cannot exceed cost of attendance. Loan and Work Study eligibility may be reduced if you are awarded a Foundation scholarship.

When is the deadline to apply?
For the Fall 2009 Foundation Scholarships your application must be submitted by August 24, 2009 ... no exceptions!

How and when will I know the results of my scholarship application?
Applicants will be notified by a letter of the results of their application after September 11, 2009.

Can international students apply?
Yes, unless residency requirements are specifically mentioned in the scholarship guidelines.

I am worried about my privacy, is this online application safe?
Yes, the Ivy Tech Foundation scholarship application is handled on a secure server and your personal information is handled with strict confidentiality.

What do I need to do if I apply for a scholarship with an essay?
Each essay you submit must include the full scholarship title, your name, your C-Number/Student ID number, and the date.
Essays must be received prior to the appropriate deadline.

Helpful Tips

  • The scholarship committee considers spelling, grammar and completeness of each application.
  • It is important to complete your scholarship essay using the proper casing, please do not submit an essay using all caps or all lower case characters.
  • Answer all questions completely.
  • Ask a friend, teacher or tutoring center staff member to sit down and help you complete the application process.
  • Remember: revise, revise and revise!
