Ivy Tech-Bloomington to Host Police Instructor Training Course

BLOOMINGTON, IN

In partnership with the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA), Ivy Tech Community College’s Bloomington campus will host a five-day, 40-hour training course for police instructors July 11-15, 2005.
The course is taught by ILEA instructors and is designed to train officers to be instructors and leaders within their home departments in the areas of making effective presentations, researching, questioning and theory. The course will run from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Ivy Tech-Bloomington campus, 200 Daniels Way, and tuition is $260 for each officer trainee. Unless a waiver is obtained through the ILEA, eligible officers must meet all of the following criteria:
1. A Graduate of the ILEA;
2. An officer with at least three years of law enforcement experience;
3. Officers must be sponsored by their local law enforcement agency.
