Ivy Tech Board Gives Approval For Business Degree

Bloomington, Indiana. The Ivy Tech College Board of Trustees has approved an associate of applied science degree in business administration for its Bloomington school.
The new degree would allow students to focus on a specialized concentration in the financial services field as well as management opportunities in areas including health care, human resources and logistics.

Bloomington, Indiana The Ivy Tech Community College Board of Trustees recently gave approval to Ivy Tech-Bloomington to offer an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Business Administration. The proposal will now go to the Indiana Commission for Higher Education for final approval.
Ivy Tech-Bloomington has offered an Associate of Science Degree in Business Administration for several years. The addition of the Associate of Applied Science Degree provides students with the opportunity to focus on a specialized concentration in the financial services field as well as management opportunities in arenas like health care, human resources, logistics, marketing, restaurant and eBusiness.
Jim Smith, Ivy Tech Community College – Bloomington Dean of Academic Services, said, “Our students will benefit greatly from the addition of this degree. The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Business Administration provides important concentrations in human resources, marketing and non-profit management that are not currently available in the Business Administration program.”
The two-year Associate of Applied Science Degree in Business Administration consists of 18 credit hours in general education and 42 credit hours in technical courses. The degree is designed for transfer opportunities, and will transfer to a four-year degree at Indiana State University, Ball State University and the University of Southern Indiana.
