Bloomington, Ind. - Ivy Tech Community College - Bloomington will celebrate diversity by exposing its students to the rich culture within the Bloomington community and beyond, during this year"s "A Diversity Experience" event. The event is Thursday, November 13 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Ivy Tech Hoosier-Times Student Commons. The event is free and open to the public.

"A Diversity Experience" will feature a performance from Indiana University East Asian Studies, demonstrating a traditional martial arts presentation. The Ivy Tech - Bloomington Culinary Arts division will also provide an ethnic cooking demonstration during the event. There will be cheese quesadillas, Spanish rice, Asian rice and Louisiana Dirty Rice - the idea being that rice is a common food among many cultures. "A Diversity Experience" will also feature cultural booths which display history, heritage, arts and crafts, and geography of the respective organizations. Representatives from each cultural group will be on-site to share information about their organizations.
