Ivy Tech gets grant to help military, veterans

Ivy Tech Community College’s Bloomington campus has received a grant to develop student support programs for military service members and veterans.

Chancellor John Whikehart said the school plans to use the $15,000 grant to create programming for students who are currently serving in the military and veterans to support and help them achieve their academic goals.

Ivy Tech received the grant through Operation Diploma, an initiative of the Military Family Research Institution on the campus of Purdue University, with a $5.8 million gift from the Lilly Endowment.

Ivy Tech-Bloomington also plans to create a military veterans organization on campus.
