Ivy Tech - Bloomington student wins statewide award

Bloomington, Ind.Ivy Tech Community College-Bloomington student, Sheryl Graham, has recently been awarded an Indiana Career & Technical Award for Excellence in the postsecondary student category. The award is sponsored by the Indiana Commission on Career and Technical Education, and is awarded to outstanding students who demonstrate scholarship, character, leadership, and technical proficiency in their area of study.

During her time at Ivy Tech, Sheryl has actively participated in activities that support her career goals as well as her interest in community service. Sheryl is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, an organization dedicated to providing community service, and is also a member of Kappa Beta Delta, an organization that encourages and recognizes scholarship and accomplishment among business students. This semester, Sheryl is continuing her involvement in Ivy Tech’s Office Administration internship program, as a human resources assistant for Monroe Bank. Throughout her education at Ivy Tech, Sheryl has earned placement on the Dean’s List and the Chancellor’s List, for her outstanding GPA. She is working toward her Associate of Applied Science degree in Office Administration with a concentration in software, and anticipates graduation in May 2009.

Sheryl’s achievement will be recognized at a public ceremony on Feb. 10, 2009 at the Indiana Government Center in Indianapolis.
