Ivy Tech hosts 'Build Your Bridge' career fair for students this ThursdayMarch 30, 2010 Bloomington, Ind. – More than 30 employers will participate in Ivy Tech’s annual Career Expo event. This year’s event, “Build Your Bridge,” will bring students together with employers from South Central Indiana on Thursday, April 1 from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Ivy Tech - Bloomington Student Commons. Biotechnology students will find the life sciences industry is well represented by Cook Pharmica, Baxter and Boston Scientific. New this year, Duke-Energy, Novonics and CACI will be prepared to meet with School of Technology students. Representatives of hospitality, public services, health care, and more will be on board to meet with graduating Ivy Tech students. Phi Theta Kappa will be seeking donations of non-perishable food items and children’s books for Project Graduation at Career Expo this year. Project Graduation is designed to help alleviate hunger and illiteracy in our community. Donations will benefit Fairview Elementary and Highland Park Elementary. Career Expo 2010 is open to the diverse job seeker, who is either looking for a new career or simply looking to build their professional network. Career Expo is also open to associate degree candidates, students seeking internships or co-ops, and even summer employment. Participants should expect to network with area business representatives, pass along résumés, and be prepared to speak with employers about job or internship openings. Career Expo 2010, “Build Your Bridge,” is sponsored by Bloomington Hospital, Cook Pharmica, The Herald-Times, Ivy Tech Alumni Association, Monroe Bank, ModusLink PTS Electronics, and South Central Indiana Human Resources Association.
